Meet the Team – Winterset

Stephanie Berry, PT, DPT

Clinic Manager

Stephanie graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a BA in exercise science. She went on to get her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Iowa. Stephanie is from Earlham and returned to the area following graduate school. She has a passion for working with women’s health clients and high school athletes in addition to addressing injury prevention and treating a variety of orthopedic injuries. Stephanie is a certified Astym provider and a credentialed clinical instructor. She is married with three children and currently resides in Winterset. Her hobbies and interests include running, swimming and spending time with her family.​

Nicole Smith, PT

Nicole earned her undergraduate degree in Science from The University of Northern Iowa and her Master's in Physical Therapy from the University of Iowa in 2002. She has always worked in outpatient therapy, continuously expanding her clinical skills and expertise. Her accomplishments include opening and growing a start-up clinic just outside of the metro for the past 16 years. She has a passion for working with a variety of orthopedic injuries to include athletes of all ages, extensive hip rehabilitation, all shoulder injuries, torticollis and generalized orthopedic pediatric injuries. Nicole is a certified Astym provider, has training in Therapeutic Dry Needling, is TPI Level 1 Certified in golf for medical practitioners, and a certified clinical instructor with the American Physical Therapy Association. Nicole is married with a son and a daughter that attend Winterset schools. Her husband works in Winterset as well. She is very excited to be working in the community she lives in and to provide the best level of care to the Winterset and surrounding communities. Her hobbies include watching and helping with her children's sporting activities, golf, watching the Hawkeyes, and traveling with family.

Christy Roberts, DPT

Christy received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Iowa State University and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University. Christy is a native to Iowa however prior to 2020 spent 10 years working in Kansas City, MO in an outpatient department for Saint Luke's East Hospital. She has extensive experience with varied diagnosis including post-surgical (orthopedic); Spine Pain, Running and Gait analysis; CVA; and generalized weakness. Christy is married with three daughters. Her hobbies include being an avid runner and enjoys hiking, cycling, swimming and the occasional triathlon when she's not chasing after her three girls. She loves gardening and tending to her animals on their acreage.

Ethan Elkin, PT

Ethan earned his bachelor of arts degree from Simpson College. He went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from St. Ambrose University. He enjoys working with all types of life athletes. Ethan believes education is a key part of the rehabilitation process to help individuals take more control of their rehab. He enjoys how treating one area of the body can affect another. He grew up in central Iowa and moved to the Winterset area with his family. Ethan enjoys his free time with family and friends, usually doing something outside. He stays active by playing with his two kids and two dogs. He enjoys participating in triathlons and lifting. When not outside he enjoys watching movies on the couch with family.
